You simplify complex enterprise workflows by mapping how people really work, cutting steps that add no value, breaking big jobs into stages, showing only what the current task needs, designing for errors, keeping navigation shallow, and measuring task-level results. The sections below show how to apply each one, what to measure, and where teams usually go wrong.

ffective onboarding asks for essential information when users understand why it is needed. These seven signup and first-use patterns include illustrative screen examples, supporting research, and practical tradeoffs. Choose the patterns that fit your product and test whether they help users create an account and complete their first meaningful action.

This 90-minute review helps you identify a likely bottleneck and choose one experiment, provided you already have reliable tracking and enough historical data.

To help prevent scope creep, use a change control process that assesses impact, assigns a decision-maker, and reviews requests regularly. Estimate the cost, schedule impact, and risks of proposed changes before work begins.
